Who we are
Hilel ("we", operated at hilel.app) is a video-editing service for creators. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account data — name, email, and authentication identifiers from Clerk when you sign in.
- Uploaded media — source videos you submit for processing and the derived outputs we return to you.
- Platform tokens — OAuth access and refresh tokens you grant for TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms. Stored encrypted, used only to publish on your behalf when you ask.
- Usage telemetry — job status, timing, and errors, used to operate the Service and debug issues.
- Billing data — handled by our payments partner; we do not store card numbers.
How we use it
- To run your video through the editing pipeline and return results.
- To publish to third-party platforms when you explicitly ask.
- To communicate about your account (sign-in, receipts, invites).
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Third parties we share with
- Clerk — authentication.
- Neon — managed Postgres for app data.
- UploadThing — media storage.
- ElevenLabs — speech-to-text on your audio.
- Replicate, Anthropic, OpenAI — AI processing for transcripts, planning, and rendering.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Vercel — hosting and build infrastructure.
- TikTok, YouTube, etc. — only when you publish through our integration.
Retention
Source uploads are retained while you keep the associated job in your library. Delete a job and we delete the source media and derivatives on a rolling schedule (typically within 30 days). Account data is kept while your account is open.
Your rights
You can export or delete your data, disconnect third-party platform tokens, or close your account at any time from Settings. For formal requests, email privacy@hilel.app.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Platform tokens are additionally encrypted at the application layer.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notice.
